Sessions

Sessions are 45 minutes long and start on the hour. We advise arriving at least 20 minutes in advance to ensure you have enough time to prepare for your session. The session ends at the same time for everyone so don’t be late otherwise, you’ll have less time to enjoy being on the rink!

Tickets Purchased before Nov 22nd 2024 receive an early skaters discount of 10%.

  • Skate rental
    • We hold a large number of skates and a wide range of sizes are available. Our skate sizes range from size J8 to size 14. We also have bob skates available for younger skaters.
    • Skate size availability and bob skates cannot be guaranteed. They are issued on a first-come, first-served basis.

Cancellation / Changes

Please check your tickets carefully prior to checking out, as mistakes cannot always be rectified.

  • Once booked, tickets are non-transferable and are unable to be rescheduled, refunded or cancelled.

On the day

  • We are located at the Ring of Kerry Golf Course  
  • Ring of Kerry, Greenane, Kenmare, Co. Kerry, V93 AK85 
  • Follow sings on site for parking and entry to Rink of Kerry  
  • Sessions start on the hour  
  • Please check in with Skate host 20 minutes before your session start time to allow time to put your skates on and store any belongings. 
  • Skate hire is included in the ticket price, but you can bring your own skates if preferred. There is no reduction in price if you bring your own skates. Rink of Kerry  is not responsible for your skates, shoes or property. 
  • Wrapping up in warm, outdoor clothing and please wear gloves. 
    1. The rink is indoor and the area is not heated 
    2. We advise wearing gloves – not only to help with the cold but also to aid traction when getting up. 
    3. It is a good idea to bring a change of socks for after your session. 
  • We advise all skaters to use suitable protective gear, if required. We have a limited supply of safety equipment available at the skate desk so please ask if you require something on arrival. 
  • No, everyone must wear skates or if they are in a wheelchair they can be pushed around. 
  • Bags of any description are not allowed on the rink. We recommend that you only bring essentials with you. All bags must be placed in the locker provided. 
  • Storage lockers are used entirely at your own risk. Rink of Kerry does not accept any liability for loss, theft or damage except if caused by intent or gross negligence of the company or its employees. 
  • Yes, we provide a number of fibreglass weighted penguins on the rink that operate on a first-come, first-served basis. There are a limited number available so it is best to arrive at the venue in advance of your session to ensure the availability of a penguin aid. Skate aids are available for skaters 110cm or under. 
  • For safety reasons, all children between the ages of 3-12 must be accompanied by a skater who is 18 years old or over at all times. 
  • Skaters aged 13-17 may skate on their own, but a parent or guardian must remain at the rink to supervise them at all times. 
  • There is no height restriction to skate.
  • Children must not be carried on the rink. 
  • You can skate on our rink up to any age:
    • You are responsible for skating and it is not recommended for anyone with serious illness, heart conditions or pregnant mothers-to-be. 

Terms & Conditions

We reserve the right to refuse entry to and/or ask people to leave the event in reasonable circumstances including without limitation for health and safety or licensing reasons; if you behave in a manner which has or is likely to affect the enjoyment of other persons at the event; if you use threatening, abusive or insulting words or mannerisms; if, in our reasonable opinion, you are acting under the influence of alcohol or drugs; if you are unable, when required, to produce proof of identity or age; if you don’t listen to our staff; if you breach these terms; or if your ticket is void.

  • Persons who in the opinion of Ring of Kerry Staff have consumed alcohol or any other substance likely to impair their balance will not be allowed on the rink.
  • Skating at high speed, skating backwards, tricks and acrobatics are not permitted. Chains of 3 people or more are not permitted, and neither is weaving or rough/boisterous play. The rink is not for professional use. 
  • Like all sports, the sport of  Skating carries a degree of risk. Skating is something that you freely engage in and undertake entirely at your own risk.  The skater acknowledges that the rink is a very slippery surface and, depending upon individual skill and experience level, Skating may involve falls upon the surface, collisions with other skaters, objects, or structures and therefore is considered a hazardous activity, which the skater has elected to voluntarily participate, with full knowledge, acceptance, and assumption of any and all risks of serious personal injury, death or property damage.  Management will not be responsible, however, incurred, for all injuries, accidents, and loss, however, incurred by the skater. All slips, trips and falls, and resulting injuries whilst skating, or being upon the rink will be the fault of the individual skater. 
  • Our staff will assess the situation and if required, summon a first aider to the rink. We have an onsite first aid area but for more serious incidents an ambulance will be called. 
  • Yes, the rink is located indoors and is not subject to the elements. In the unlikely event that extreme weather conditions force us to close the rink, before your session, we will arrange for you to book an alternative session, subject to availability.

ALL SKATERS ASSUME ALL RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH SKATING OR BEING UPON THE RINK SURFACE AND CONSENT TO ALL RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH RINK SKATING AND UNDERSTAND THAT THEY SKATE ENTIRELY AT THEIR OWN RISK, FOREVER RELINQUISHING THE EVENT ORGANISER OF ALL LIABILITY.
